Fields of Greens Outpost is located at 2085 Jones Phillips Road, Dacula, GA 30019. We’re open every Thursday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm. You are more than welcome and we encourage you to stop by any Thursday to see what we are about, and how our operation works! Our location is a pick up point for customers that have pre-ordered from our website, but that shouldn’t stop you from coming by to visit. Each week some of our growers may bring extra items they harvested to sell to visitors, but the best selection and variety is on the online market. Signing up is easy, and your first two orders are free of the membership charge!
Mission:
Fields of Greens; Dacula Locally Grown is comprised of local farms and gardeners located in and around the Dacula, and Gwinnett County area. We have a set limit of a 50 mile radius for our growers to truly keep things LOCAL. Each grower abides by strict standards of chemical free growing practices for their land; thus, producing the most natural, freshest, and highest quality products possible. All of our members and participants are dedicated to the enrichment of the land and continually expanding our communities knowledge of what natural food is all about.
Why Support Locally Grown:
Enhance our local economy- by purchasing local produce and other products you are providing stability to your local economy through locally owned and operated businesses. Why should we always give to the big selfish corporate chains?
Save Natural Resources:
By purchasing local products, precious valuable resources are saved. Your support reduces the use of transportation of products, reducing the carbon footprint in our environment. You as the consumer also minimize the use and waste of packaging materials.
Provide Learning Opportunities:
By supporting Locally Grown, member growers are given larger opportunities to educate the public on sustainable agriculture, and natural growing techniques and practices. Most importantly we would like to provide expanded education to our youth generation. So few truly know where their food comes from. It is time to bring them back to natures roots!
Supporting a Lost Way of Life:
Small farms have dramatically decreased as we have crossed in to the new century. Supporting Locally Grown is a small step in the right direction of preserving a lost and honest art.
MEMBERSHIP
To assist us with overhead costs, and continually provide you with the best market possible, we ask that you pay a small annual fee of $25 per household for one calendar year. You are welcome to have a free trial of two orders before you pay the membership. On your third order the website will automatically add the membership fee to your order.
ORDERING
Unlike other co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Locally Grown you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. The weekly email lists the produce, milled products, fresh flowers, and artisan goods available that week, and you can browse the items on this website before you place your order.
PLACING AN ORDER
Customers must place their order between 8am Monday and no later than Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Orders are placed here on our website. To confirm that your order was completed, please check your email for a confirmation invoice. If you do not receive the email confirmation you will need to place your order again. Give the system at least 30 minutes to generate a confirmation.
Growers receive their orders that same night and harvest on Wednesdays.
PICKING UP ORDERS
Orders are picked-up at our Sponsor Farm, Wholesome Country Farm. The address is 2085 Jones Phillips Road, Dacula, GA 30019. DIRECTIONS: From 316 East Turn right on Harbins Road, continue for approx. 3 miles, turn right on to Jones Phillips Road. Wholesome Country Farm will be the first driveway on the right side. Pick up is Thursday’s between 4pm and 7pm.
